About the Institute

Research in space weather understanding and forecasting is critically important for national security and the economy.  This is reflected in the 2015 National Space Weather Strategy and Action Plan issued by the National Science and Technology Council of the Executive Office of the President.    

The establishment of the Institute for Space Weather Sciences would provide a platform of collaborative synergy among strong research and education components inside NJIT.  Such a collaborative effort will also be extended to the outside of NJIT.  Multi-parameter data fusion and analytics will be emphasized to develop dynamically evolving models with simulation tools to study and perhaps predict the impact of solar eruptions on Earth that affect technological systems.
